When we now shall talk about leadership, it is important for us to point out that leadership is not about getting a position, but being called and chosen by Jesus Christ, who is the head of the church, to enter a function. The function of leadership in a fivefold church is to train, equip, and release others into the function that God has for them.
Leadership is not about climbing to the top of a career ladder, but about going down as a servant and lifting others up. Of course, it is also about having been given authority from Heaven to lead, but first and foremost it is about releasing others into the life Jesus has for them. We are to follow Jesus' example in all we do as leaders.
Founder and leading apostle
Arild Teikari
New Life Apostolic Network is now led by founder and leading apostle Arild Teikari, together with a visionary leadership consisting of the leaders of the congregations we now have in Norway. The leader of the local church will often be the local pastor or if the congregation has an apostle with them, this will be the leader locally.
At the same time, we have in the churches a local leadership consisting of the ministry gifts that serve the local congregation. Hers, each congregation strives to have as many of the five types of ministry gifts as possible in its leadership.
When we now experience that God is calling us to become an international network, it will lead to changes in how the network is managed.
The entire network will still be led by leading apostle Arild Teikari, but we will put in a few more leadership levels to be able to lead the entire network in a good and efficient way.
We will establish an international apostolic and visionary leadership. This will consist of apostles who individually lead regional visionary leaderships. Natural regions can then consist of three to four countries that are close to each other geographically.
Secondly, each country will have a visionary leadership, consisting of leading ministry gifts in that country. In addition to this visionary leadership, each country will also have a council consisting of all the leaders / pastors of the various congregations in the country.
We will come to this as we envision it by taking it step by step as the Holy Spirit leads us forward. We are not going to rush this, but we are going to wait until we have God's guidance and God's timing for the next step.
Psalm 133 reads: 1 A Song of Ascents. Of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is For brethren to dwell together in unity! 2 It is like the precious oil upon the head, Running down on the beard, The beard of Aaron, Running down on the edge of his garments.
This is about an important principle in being connected as brothers. It is also about the collective anointing that exists in the church of God, which flows from the leadership (Aaron's head) to the whole church (body). This is essentially a good thing. But, at the same time, there is a principle here that can have both positive and negative effects. For what you lay yourself under will come upon you. If you place yourself under someone's authority, what flows in the one you lie under will also come upon you. If the one you submit to is someone who lives close to God and who longs for all that Jesus has for his church and lets it function in his church, this will only be a blessing to you.
But, if you submit to someone who chooses to compromise or apostate, and no longer lets the Holy Spirit do what Gods wants in the church, this will also come upon you and become a limitation for you and your ministry.
Therefore, do not be too quick to put yourself under someone. Make sure they really go with God and want all that Jesus has for the church.
